What is OneSearch?

OneSearch is the SCC Library On-ramp!

OneSearch searches across most of the library's databases, as well as the library catalog (which offers location codes for items in the library's print and hard-copy media collections). OneSearch works like Google in that it displays a single search box allowing users to easily sort through a wide variety of resources. What makes OneSearch different is that it provides Los Rios students with free access to sources under copyright (most of these sources will not be available for free though Google). The information resources available through Los Rios Libraries have been carefully selected by faculty librarians for Los Rios Community College programs. In other words, the resources you uncover through OneSearch are more likely to be credible for college research than websites you might track down with an average Google search.

Remember, OneSearch isn't really a website. It's a search tool - a discovery service - that has been purchased and customized by Los Rios Libraries. The digital resources OneSearch retrieves are only available to the Los Rios community. If you attend another college (or if you use your public library) you could end up working with a different system to track down digital library materials.
