Approaching your assignment

Welcome to the LibGuide for Professor Borders' ENGWR 300 class.  This guide will help you with library research for your argumentative research paper.  It will present information on searching books, databases and web sites that will help you define your topic and support your essay topic.

Use the red tabs to the left to navigate the resources.

what am i doing with this paper?

Research Paper Proposal: A short, informal explanation of the topic, working thesis, and why you chose this topic.

Research: You are required to use academic sources for the research paper and to learn more about the issues.

Annotated Bibliography: An annotated Works Cited page which explains the sources you plan to use for your research paper.

Research Paper: Students will write an argumentative research paper taking a stance on the issue they’ve chosen to get involved with.

-Must use 5 academic sources, at least 2 of which must be peer reviewed journal articles, and one which must be a book (Soul of a Citizen is a fine option, though not required)

-Must include in-text citation and works cited page or it will receive an automatic zero.

-Be wary of summary, as always! Be sure your research is *used* to support your claim.
