For this essay, you will be asked to define and articulate a problem or social issue that you feel needs correcting, and you will use research to find viable solutions to the problem you have defined.
The following outline will give you an idea as to how to structure your essay:
In order to begin the research paper, you need to give some thought to the problem or social issue you want to focus on. Ideally the issue should be something you feel invested in and are enthusiastic to find more information in an attempt to solve.
To make sure that you are giving thought to the basis of this research paper, you must write a brief problem statement that defines your problem or issue and the reasons why you chose this particular problem to research and solve.
You offer a minimum of solutions to the problem, and choose the solution that you feel is most viable. Your paper will use a of 8 sources that will be presented first in an annotated bibliography, and serve as the Works Cited for the research paper as a whole.
The proposal of your problem will serve as Essay #3, and will be due no later than TUESDAY November 7th. Minimum 750 words. NO WORKSHOP. Final draft only. You must have a title, an intro, a thesis that states the problem and clear body paragraphs that address your investment in the problem you have defined, and why you feel your chosen issue needs corrected.
