A grade-A paper follows MLA, APA, or other style guides to a T.

Use style guides

A style guide states the rules for language, spelling, grammar, formatting, and punctuation. Your class may use the MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers or the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association.  Ask your instructor.

You can buy style guides at the College Store or online, and the SCC Library has copies.  This page links to online style guides.

Writing Center

Visit the Writing Center (LR144) and get help with your papers. The Center holds workshops on organizing, thesis statements, and more.
